Breaking all the rules
Hi guys! Been out for a while. Too busy with so many things like studies, fellowships, Bible studies, Christmas shopping, and other stuff. I saw Chelsea (Trumpets friend) jogging yesterday at the acad oval. We talked for a while and I've found out that we have a lot of friends in common here in UP. We both missed MTG, the rehearsals, kulitan, Tr. Roy(who went to Hongkong Disneyland to play the role of Shang in Mulan), and Tr. Dianne (the girl in the new magic flakes commercial) and we want to have a reunion this coming Christmas break. We're still hoping to still make it to Trumpets (or Repertory) for the summer even though we'll be busy with too many things.
For the past two weeks, I've been busy with the rehearsals for the Awitan chorale singing contest which will be held on Dec. 12, 6pm at the UP theater. Can't wait for that day to come. At last, after almost 3 years of living here in UP, I can now have the chance to see the backstage of the UP theater and have a taste of performing on its very prestigious stage even just for a little while! I mean, this is a dream come true for me. Naks!!!!
Anyway, you might be wondering what are we (Eng'g Socers) going to do there. We'll sing the song 'The Last Night of The World' from Miss Saigon since the theme is Broadway. After heated debates, we come at last to a final decision of having that song as our main piece. (Actually, we're choosing among Footloose which is my personal favorite, Seasons of Love from Rent, The Heat is on in Saigon which would be very controversial, All I ask of you from The Phantom of the Opera and Summer Nights which is a little too common.) We have a hard time rehearsing the piece. We need to do an a capella of the song. Yikes!!! Is that what you call Broadway??? Well, that's just one of the issues concerning the said contest. I'm also facing my own difficulty, the 'arrangers' can't tell what is my voice range, if it's tenor or bass. Well, it just proves that I am versatile!!! Bwahahahaha!!! You know, my pitch usually shifts depending on what mood I'm in. Hehe!!! By the way, I'm also a part of the Indakan Dance Contest which will be held on Dec. 14 at the UP Cine Adarna (formerly the UP Film Center). And I'm having a problem with that. I haven't got the chance of going to the Indakan rehearsals because of the Awitan. But I made it clear to the Indakan people that I may not commit fully to their (or I should say, our) practice since Awitan needs more time for rehearsals. Haaay!!!! All I can do is sigh!!! Remember the song Torn between two lovers... loving you both is breaking all the rules... I can really feel it because I need to spend a lot of time for rehearsals than with my Personal Ministry. So much for everything. Please do pray for me. God bless you!!!
